Meterials and methods: Information relating to suicides was obtained from sources and under the RTI Act from the office of Director General of Police, Telangana state. The data obtained relates to a total number of suicides, age-wise, sex-wise, mode, reason, education, profession, socioeconomic status, community, and caste for Telangana and Hyderabad city separately for the years 2014 to 2016. The data were analyzed comparing various parameters between Hyderabad and Core Telangana using basic statistics. There was a preponderance of men, married, educated, and quick, sure and violent methods used.
